I had a hard time with installing the batteries. Followed the instructions of putting the first battery with negative toward the 'inside'...what that meant. I just assumed since the battery cap had a spring, that part should make contact with the negative, while the other battery goes in the opposite position (for opposite polarity). Pressed the power button and got nothing. Tried at least 5 sets of batteries. Finally, the headset came to life! The quality was phenomenal! I turned to headset off to preserve the battery. When I went to turn it on again, it made this weird slurring noise, as if the batteries were dying...I just assumed they were. So, I whipped out the battery power tester, and low...the batteries were dead. I put in a fresh set (tested with the tester), and nothing. I just feel like there is some type of bad connection or something. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this product. It seems to be too hit or miss, God help you if you think you are going to use this professionally. I wouldn't even consider this a toy...it doesn't work at all. The gel pads are comfortable. Another thing to consider and something I didn't...the position of the mic. The mic came on the left ear, and I am a lefty...that's a problem. The other issue is the unlike the real Ops Core Amp, the mic cannot be switched, and the radio cable is fixed into the headset as well. For an operator, this is absolutely a no go. Thankfully, I am not an operator, but I just wanted to get my feet wet with this communications equipment. Long story...don't take short cuts. If all you need is ear pro, there are much better options.
